Zac Efron To Portray Serial Killer, Ted Bundy, In 'Shockingly Evil and Vile' Movie
Zac Efron has signed on to play in a new film about the American serial killer, Ted Bundy. The film is called 'Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil And Vile', it's a drama depicted from the point-of-view of Bundy’s longtime girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer. Who initially refused to believe the allegations--but later reported Bundy to the police.
Bundy was executed in Florida in 1989 following confessions to sexual assault and murder of more than thirty women.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the film will be directed by Oscar-nominated, Joe Berlinger, who’s best known for his Paradise Lost documentaries (about the “West Memphis Three”, who were arrested and later cleared of the murder of three eight-year-olds) and Some Kind of Monster (about the heavy metal band Metallica).
Zac Efron starring as Bundy is a shift from the former teen star’s usual comedic roles. Efron who’s appeared in Neighbors, Dirty Grandpa, and upcoming film based on the 90s TV series Baywatch with co-star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson; is changing things up. Baywatch is set to hit theaters later this month and Principal photography for Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile will begin in October.
