Selena Gomez Opens Up About Her Time Spent in Rehab
Hollywood can be a very scary place. With the constant paparazzi or the little to no privacy whatsoever, it can take a lot out of celebrities both mentally and physically. Selena Gomez made headlines back in fall 2016 when she voluntarily checked herself into a rehabilitation center for emotional issues. This had come after the singer cancelled the rest of her Revival tour in August 2016, saying she had to take some time for herself.
The singer has opened up about her past issues on the panel for Netflix’s new show 'Thirteen Reasons Why', where she is the executive producer. Production of the show began just as Gomez had entered treatment. She said that the treatment she sought out helped her become closer to the show and the message it means to spread to its audience,
"To be frank with you, I actually was going through a really difficult time when they started production. I went away for 90 days, and I actually met a ton of kids in this place that were talking about issues that these characters are experiencing," The singer explained.
The singer also has expressed her dislike for social media and the influence it can have. A lot of the time it seems that social media more diminishes the connections that young adults make with one another.
"We're just so disconnected from people now. Teens just really want [a connection]." Gomez said.
Congratulations on opening up about your struggles Selena! You seem to be in a much more positive place in life, and we at Hellotittienyc wish you nothing but more happiness and success. Also, we can’t wait to check out 'Thirteen Reasons Why' when it’s out!
