Rose Mcgowan Speaks Her Voice Amidst Harvey Weinstein Scandal

Ever since the controversial Harvey Weinstein scandal broke headlines a few weeks ago, many of Hollywood’s elite have been stepping forward and voicing their experiences of sexual harassment/ assault by the hands of the disgraced producer. One of the most outspoken and prolific speakers has been actress Rose Mcgowan. The 44-year-old actress took to the Women’s Convention Center in Detroit, Michigan to speak about her determination to continue fighting sexual misconduct of all forms in the land of Hollywood. The actress said,

"I have been silenced for 20 years. I have been slut-shamed. I have been harassed. I have been maligned. And you know what? I'm just like you. What happened to me behind the scenes happens to all of us in this society, and that cannot stand and it will not stand, We are free. We are strong. We are one massive, collective voice.”- via

Mcgowan is one of numerous women who have accused the producer of sexual misconduct. The list has seemed to be endlessly building longer and longer as more women step forward to speak their voices. Although the future for the disgraced producer is still uncertain, it’s empowering to see the women of Hollywood making it a mission to not let these things go unnoticed anymore.
