Pride Month: Crayola Makeup Celebrates

If anyone told me that the famous crayon/marker/colored pencil brand Crayola was going to come out with a makeup brand, I would not have believed it. But it finally happened they just launched a 58-piece makeup line. I can see why they did it, makeup is a very profitable market and is always expanding. But what I think made them do it, was all the makeup D.I.Y. videos on YouTube featuring YouTubers using crayons and colored pencils as makeup. The makeup is said to be vegan and ranging from the prices of $15 to $40. I for one am glad that instead of people using actual crayons and such for makeup they have actual crayola makeup.

The Crayola makeup line has face crayons, lip and cheek crayons, color-changing lip crayons, highlighters, mascaras, palettes, and brushes. The colors are highly pigmented and the options are endless with a total of 95 shades. The packaging is pretty nostalgic staying with the theme of their art supplies and the face crayons looking like actual crayons as well. All of the color names such as: Fuzzy Wuzzy, a dusty rose, Tumbleweed, a cool beige, Outer Space, a metallic slate blue, are taken from shades of actual Crayola crayons.

What do you think? Would you go and buy the new Crayola makeup line? I for one would like to try it out before giving any opinions on the matter, but from what I’ve seen it is a cool concept and has a very nostalgic/ childhood feel to it with a modern twist. Only with time will we be able to tell if this move was a hit or miss on Crayola’s part.
