Met Gala 2017: All Details About The Biggest Fashion Party Of The Year
On Monday, May 1, 2017 the New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art will open its doors for the Met Gala. This annual event is an invitation-only fundraiser to benefit the museum's Costume Institute, and a launch party for its spring exhibition. This year the 2017 Costume Institute Benefit Gala, aka the Met Gala. The theme this year is "Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art Of The In-Between". Here's what you need to know about fashion's most important party.
Anna Wintour, Vogue's current editor, took over as chairwoman in 1999, recruiting only A-list honorary and co-chairs (including Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Tom Brady) and inviting everyone from Lil' Kim to Kim Kardashian to attract more attention to the event. Smart move Anna! This year the co-chairs will be Tom Brady, Gisele Bundchen, Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams, and of course Anna Wintour! Rei Kawakubo and Ambassador Caroline Kennedy will serve as the Honorary Chairs.
