Meryl Streep Joins the “Big Little Lies” Cast For Season 2
HBO’s hit show “Big Little Lies” just got more exciting as they announced the addition of Meryl Streep to the cast. The cast of the American drama television show based on the novel by Liane Moriarty about a murder in the quiet town of Monterey, Calif., officially announced last month that there will be a season 2. Most of the cast is expected to return including some of Hollywood’s biggest stars —Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon.
Streep will play the mother-in-law of Nicole Kidman's character, Celeste Wright in the upcoming season. Streep rarely takes on television roles as her last television show appearance was in 2003 on the HBO series “Angels in America,” but fans are raving about Streep joining the cast and are more excited than ever about season 2, although the release date is not yet known.
"Big Little Lies" made its debut on HBO in February 2017 and went on to win eight Emmys and four Golden Globes last year. Streep, who just received her 21st Oscar nomination for her role in “The Post,” will most definitely contribute to the show’s success.
