Kotex Recalls Tampons After It Was Unraveling Inside Of Women

Kimberly-Clark, the parent corporation of Kotex, is issuing a voluntary recall of U by Kotex Sleek Tampons, Regular Absorbency, throughout the United States and Canada. 

Consumers have reported that pieces of the tampon remained inside upon removal of the product. Affected users have had to seek “medical attention to remove tampon pieces left in the body.”

On Tuesday, the company issued a press release advising retailers to pull its product due to a “quality-related defect.” 

Kimberly-Clark Corp. said that it was only this particular product (manufactured between October 7, 2016 and October 16, 2018 and distributed between October 17, 2016 and October 23, 2018) that had a defect and no other  products were impacted. Consumers can identify this product by looking for specific lot numbers found on the bottom of the package.
