Jaclyn Hill’s Lipstick Scandal
After all the hype about her lipstick collection, Jaclyn Hill has launched them. But, there has been a lot of backlash concerning the lipsticks. People including other beauty gurus on YouTube have been complaining about beads coming out of the lipstick formula, holes and fibers, hairs or fuzzies on the lipsticks. Some YouTubers who received the collection through PR have noticed damp spots on those as well. With all this happening there are a lot of theories and speculation going around the beauty community.
One theory is that she had these lipsticks around for years. YouTuber @RawBeautyKristi stated she thinks this could be the case because the packaging of the lipsticks has the initial JH (Jaclyn Hill) and the brand has been changed to Jaclyn Cosmetics following her divorce. The theory is that maybe they are just old. Another theory is that they are contaminated which could explain why hairs and fuzzies are growing out of the lipstick. The other popular theory is that she didn’t have the collection go through quality control.
Jaclyn’s first reaction to this scandal was to clap-back at a twitter follower who commented on the beads issue. Stating that the reason for the lipstick being flaky and having texture was the twitter follower’s lips not being exfoliated. Basically that the girl in question has dry lips. She has since then apologized for saying that, “Also, I have apologized to the first girl who tweeted me about her lipstick not being perfect. I reacted very unprofessionally & that’s never my intention. I always want you guys to be comfortable sharing your concerns with me.” With the issues of the fibers on the lipstick, she claims it’s because they use cotton gloves in the lab she made them in. She has since came out with a video discussing the issues with her lipstick collection.
I suggest waiting until a new batch is made before buying the lipsticks. Without knowing why the lipstick collection is in that condition risking your health is not advised. If you have bought them and want to wear them just checked them out carefully before doing so. I personally don’t have the collection so I cannot tell you what to do only what I suggest.
