Ivanka Trump Didn’t Get the Ideal Welcoming at The Berlin Summit
Donald Trump has been making headlines constantly since his inauguration back in January. Donald isn’t the only one that repeatedly keeps making headlines. His daughter Ivanka has had her fair share of the spotlight starting with her clothing line being dropped from numerous retailers including Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom. Now the mother and businesswoman is feeling the heat from critics across waters when she was booed at a summit in Berlin. This washer first international trip as a representative for the United States.
The first daughter addressed topics concerning her stance on respect for women in the workplace, and her hopes to grow into the role as a Representative, Ivanka Trump only started a mere 100 days ago. At one point when commenting about her father Donald’s support for paid leave policies, she started to receive boos and hisses from the audience. This didn’t falter her speech as she continued praising her father saying;
"I think in my personal experience—and you were asking me about my role as daughter and as an adviser—as a daughter, I can speak on a very personal level knowing that he encouraged me and enabled me to thrive."
When asked about the booing later on Ivanka simply stated
“Politics is politics.”
Although much is still unknown about the fate of the country's future, let’s all hope Ivanka’s stance on women in the workplace is one she will follow through in the months to come. Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
