Healthy Habits For January
Hi, friends! If you’re looking for little ways stay healthier this month after a month of holiday drinking, let me share some of my healthy habits I’ve scattered throughout my routine.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Having a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in the morning is a quick step to incorporate into your morning routine. According to WebMD apple cider vinegar helps “to lose weight, improve heart health, and even treat dandruff.” I have been doing it for the past week or so and it also promotes good digestion. If the taste is too strong for you, dilute it with water. Drink before you eat breakfast!
Join a gym close to the office
It’s important to stay active, I think we all know this by now. But by the time I get home from work, the last thing I want to do is work out. So I’ve beaten my little funk by joining a gym close to the office. That way I change at work and get in a quick workout either at lunch or before the commute home exhausts me. Working out before you’re home makes you feel like it’s not cutting into your relaxation time.
Maybe give your liver a break for the rest of the month. To be honest, I have barely had any alcohol since New Years and I feel a lot better. You just feel less icky when you don’t have the sugar or carbs from drinking beer or mixed drinks. It gives your body a well-needed rest. Skip the hangovers this month and instead, stay hydrated.
Quit the late night snacking
I’m a culprit of this. I love snacking and watching Grey’s Anatomy before I go to sleep. I love some popcorn. But I find that I don’t fall asleep nearly as easily if I snack right before I go to bed. Since I’ve cut out the late night snack, I’ve been falling asleep way quicker.
Do you guys have any helpful tips that you’re using to recover from last month? Let me know!
