Happy Birthday Harper Bazaar! Celebrating Their 150th Year With A Fashionable Women's List
You thought the SnapChat filter you got for your birthday was cool. Well, Harper Bazaar just gave themselves the ultimate birthday gift. The fashion magazine celebrated it's 150th birthday this Wednesday. In honor of 150 years in the fashion business, they decided to create a fashion show and took it to the next level. Starting at 8:30pm and running to midnight, the North side of the Empire State Building flashed iconic shoots and cultural moments from the pages of Harper's into the building, taking up 42 floors. Harper's Bazaar partnered with Tiffany & Co. to plan this event and according to Harper's Editor-in-Chief Glenda Bailey, the event was 'wildly expensive but it will be worth every penny.'
The images included works by Andy Warhol and Richard Avedon. It even featured old Hollywood stars like Audrey Hepburn and Lauren Bacall. They also included new Hollywood star Kendall Jenner.
Who attended a star-studded viewing party for the event, held at the Rainbow Room in Rocafellacenter. According to the New York Times, Bailey said she wanted to give New Yorkers 'the greatest fashion show in the world.'
