Exciting News! Grown-ish Renewed For A Third Season

If you love “Grown-ish” as much as I do then get ready to be happy. Freeform has announced that the channel is granting another season for the spin-off of hit show “Black-ish”. Most might have found out through social media, but some of the actors found out through their press run with Television Critics Association.  All the cast members showed off their excitement via Instagram.

Women lie, men lie, but numbers don’t. The show is number one amongst women between the age of 18 and 49. Basically a show for characters like Zoey and Bow who will enjoy it enough for another season. Season 2 has shaken away the freshman fifteen and is embracing the sophomore strides into real adulthood...on a campus, with a meal plan, and spontaneous parties. Yeah real grown.

The president of Freeform spoke on how the channel is showing what can happen if you allow young adults to show their true colors. Tom Ascheim said,

“At Freeform, our shows are uncompromising and bullish on what’s possible when young adults are empowered to be themselves and share their voice about the things that define them and their generation.” “Grown-ish” is doing a great jobs with that. First season broke the barrier between millennials and Generation X; filled in the gap between “A Different World”/”Beverly Hills, 90201” to now.

The show has tackled topics like colorism, race, drugs, sex, relationships, and politics.  It taps into the character of every intellectual that graces any campus around the nation. Yara Shahidi, Trevor Jackson, Chloe and Halle Bailey, Luka Sabat, Deon Cole, Francia Raisa, Emily Arlook, and Jordan Buhat can be found every Wednesday on Freeform at 8pm. Oh and if you are a big Yara Shahidi fan then you’re in luck, besides “Grown-ish” you will see her on the big screen. Novel turned movie, “The Sun Is Also A Star” will be coming to a theater near you on May 17.
