Drake's New Album "More Life" Is Letting Out Secrets
In case you missed it, Drake released a new album called “More Life”! This latest album, or playlist as Drake insists, is spilling a whole lot of tea! Drake refers to his ex J-Lo in “Free Smoke” and hints that the relation may have not ended well. He also subtly suggests that dating her was his teenage fantasy in “Teenage Fever”. The rapper also takes a jab at Meek Mill in “Free Smoke”, laying out the fact that the pair still have unsolved issues. Finally, he comments on Serena Williams’ recent engagement and adds that he’ll still wait for Nicki Minaj.
Fans on Twitter had a lot of things to say about this album,
Drake also brings back a few of his tricks in this album. He samples Stevie Wonder’s harmonica solo from his 2011 song “Doing It Wrong” in “Jorja Interlude”. Equally important, he includes voicemails (again) on his songs. He features a message from his mother who comments on the negative tone she’s notice in her son and offers him advice from Michelle Obama’s slogan: “When they go low, we go high.”
The artist includes a bunch of collaborations with a plethora of rappers and singers, including his latest obsession: London town. Drake partners with subgenre’s artists Giggs and Skepta. Moreover, he takes advantage of the trap music wave and adds features with Quavo, Travis Scott, 2 Chainz and Young Thug, to name a few. Drake also appeared to squash the drama with Kanye West as the pair released the song “Glow”.
“More Life” plays up Drake’s long time love for island music and presents heavy Caribbean influenced tracks. (Although, we’re still not positive which island Drake thinks he’s from.) Finally, we might not hear from him until 2018. Drake hints in “Do Not Disturb” that he’ll be taking the summer off for some much needed personal time with family and friends.
