Celebrities Protest At 2017 SAG Awards By Wearing White
Celebrities are using their voices with their acceptance speeches. It has given them the opportunity to express their distaste for the political situation in this country. It is no surprise to see their activism leap from their speeches to their fashion. Many women choose to wear white to the SAG Awards this year and we don't think it had anything to do with how much it radiates off their skin. The color has long been associated with the suffrage movement in the early 20th century. It was chosen by women's social and political union in Britain as one of its signature colors. Here are some of the women who we think decided to silently protest in their white dresses.
The 'Fences' actress wore a Vivenne Westwood gown.
Portman makes pregnancy look so good in this Dior gown and Tiffany jewelry.
This young A-listers wore a Jason Wu gown.
The leading lady in ABC's 'Scandal' wore a Cavalli Couture gown.
Dunst was glowing in this Dior gown.
This living legend looked fabulous in a Valentino gown.
'Orange is the New Black' star wore a Christian Siriano pantsuit.
There have been no statements on whether any of these celebrities wore white specifically in protest to President Trump's immigration ban and the current action for women's rights. But most of these actresses have at one point publicly talked about their distaste for the current political climate. So, it would not be hard to believe that they came together to make a political statement with their fashion.
