Carrie Fisher’s Daughter Billie Lourd Will Join The Cast Of 'American Horror Story'

As it’s always been in the past, the next season of FX’s television staple American Horror Story has kept their plotline for this coming Fall under wraps to the public. Show creator Ryan Murphy has stated that the 2016 Presidential Election will have a big influence on the upcoming season of the hit show. Longtime cast members Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters are set to return, but there are no specifics yet on what their roles this season will be. It has recently been announced Billie Lourd from Murphy’s other show, Scream Queens, will join the show in an unspecified role as well.

The casting of Lourd leaves the fate of Scream Queens even more up in the air after the ratings fell hard this past season. Despite reviews of significant improvement over season 1, the show still struggles with finding a longstanding audience. Murphy expressed his views of this season clarifying that it won’t be a sort of retelling of the Trump vs Clinton election saying,

"Horror Story is always about allegory, so the election is allegory. It's our jumping off point. It is about the election we just went through and what happened on that night and the fallout of that night, which to many people, from all sides of the camps is a horror story. And you know, that show is always so fun when it's about the zeitgeist and what we're doing now."- via E! News

It certainly will be an interesting season whatever the plot itself ends up being! AHS has been spewing out consistently good writing and plot driven seasons since it’s early beginnings, and with the theme being politically oriented, there's not a doubt out there that this will surely be a must watch. Hang tight everyone! Fall isn’t as far away as you think.
