Ballerina Misty Copeland Continues Joins Estée Lauder
If you don't know who Misty Copeland is then you are missing out! She is the first African-American principal dancer to ever lead the American Ballet Theatre. Today, Copeland can add ambassador to her resume because she will be the new face of Estée Lauder. Copeland has had an impressive career; with other endorsement deals with Under Armour her fame has spread beyond ballet. She even has a Barbie doll made in her likeness.
Copeland will be representing Estée Lauder’s new Modern Muse fragrance campaign. Bringing her ballet skills to Estée Lauder you can see Copeland in a digital ad for the brand teaching young ballerinas.
Estée Lauder officials stated that she would be the first ballet dancer to represent the brand, and that they were planning a multi-year contract with her that would include TV commercials as well as print and digital campaigns.
“We see Misty as having the ability to connect to women,” Geri Schachner, a senior vice president for global communications at Estée Lauder, said in an interview with the New York Times. “It’s really about the fact that she is an inspiration, particularly to young girls. We want to connect with people who really see her as a role model — not just as a dancer, but as a woman.”
