America’s Got Talent Contestant Shares Words Of Strength To Her Hometown Of Houston

Kechi Okwuchi has been blowing the judges and viewers away on America’s Got Talent with her amazing voice, and her inspirational survival story. The Houston native survived a devastating plane crash back in 2005 when she was still in high school. Performing at the quarter-finals of the hit show, Kechi reflected on all the struggles and determination that has helped her make it to this moment. For one thing, on how she grew after the crash and what she learned from it. Kechi said:

"Hopefully people can look at me and go, 'This is a fellow human being. She went through this and she came out on the other side.' Their injuries don't have to define them," - via etonline.com

The Houston native’s hometown is currently still in the midst of devastating flooding thanks to Hurricane Harvey. After delivering another flawless and beautiful performance on the show, Kechi took a moment to extend words of love and encouragement to everyone who is still in the middle of recovery efforts saying: 

"I pray that my performance gave them something positive to see. I'm not even sure If people in Houston can see this, but I pray that they can… and that they feel something positive and they feel strength."
