Amber Heard Opens Up About Coming Out As Bisexual

We’ve seen her face grace the screens in Zombielandand Magic Mike XL, and now actress Amber Heard is opening up publicly about her sexuality. Back in 2010, Heard expressed how her sexual identity was never something that felt needed to be made a big deal out of. I mean she was in an open relationship with a woman at the time and was never trying to hide anything. However, after she appeared on Ellen and expressed for the first time openly about her sexuality, the reaction was not what she was expecting.

"I just answered honestly. I could tell by the look on this person's face it was a big deal. My poor publicist. Then I realized the gravity of what I had done and why so many people—studio execs, agents, advisors—did not want this coming before my name. I became attached to a label. I've never seen myself defined by the person I'm with. I saw myself being in this unique position and having a unique responsibility. So, I bit the bullet."

Heard expressed how she was informed that having the term “bisexual” attached to one’s name could be a problem for future jobs. Rather than let this slide, Heard bit back strong and has proved a fine path of work for herself since then. The actress has also expressed her happiness for other celebrities coming out in the entertainment industry saying

"I stand here now amongst many of my romantic leading lady peers who are out and fluid. I'm one of many now, and I'm working."

A leading voice for the LGBTQ community, Heard is on the path to further spreading love and awareness as far as the Hollywood eye can see. You go Amber! We can’t wait to see what’s up next for you!
