CEO of a Women’s Clothing Boutique
Hellotittie: When did you first realize you wanted to pursue a career in fashion?
Nastassia Morrison: From High School, I knew I wanted to do something fashion related. I use to love going to school just to get dressed up. I couldn’t see myself in any other field.
HT: How did you come up with the name?
NM: The name of the boutique is my birthday. I wanted to name the business Eight2Seven because Eight2Seven is me. Also it is easy and catchy to remember.
HT: What is your favorite part about being a buyer for Eight2Seven?
NM: My favorite part of choosing the garments is looking for items that I don’t see every where, I try my best to pick items that I love love and also that are trendy for the modern day women.
HT: How do you want women to feel when wearing Eight2Seven?
NM: I want females to feel a sense of encouragement, confident, beautiful, sexy, mighty, strong all ball up into one. When you dress good, you feel good!!
How did it feel having your clothing shown on Love and Hip-Hop?
At first, I was so surprised to see one of my items on a television that is broadcasted to millions of people. One of my memories that I would never forget, it also gave me encouragement. The reason of this being we never ask Amina from Love & Hip Hop to wear the dress on the show. She willfully did it on your own, that to me shows we sell quality pieces. She could have worn anything else but she decided to wear something from the Eight2Seven. By seeing the dress on television, automatically that was like God speaking to me saying NEVER give up keep pushing. I’m truly grateful for that opportunity.
HT: What woman inspires you and why?
NM: I don’t have one woman in particular. I can say any woman that has an ambitious personality, humility or pushes through when the odds are against them.
HT: What has been your greatest moment of success?
NM: My greatest moments are still being created. Thus far, when I had the opportunity to gift an young girl a sewing machine and brought her to the fabric store to pick up a few things. The way her face lit up was priceless. She’s inspiring fashion designer, I wanted her to know she can still achieve her dreams no matter the circumstances.
HT: What advice do you have for women aiming for a leadership position?
NM: Women that’s aiming for a leadership position please say stay focus, be determined and never give up. Always find a way to reinvent yourself to a better version of yourself.
