Christina Vega

Professional Make-up Artist  & Instructor

Hellotittie: How did you get your idea or concept for your business?

Christina Vega: Once my son was born I wanted to be able to provide makeovers and private lessons without having to travel all over New York City. I thought it would be a great idea to have a location where my clients can come to me instead. Then the first pop up shop of The Christina V Boutique was born.

HT: What made you choose the Beauty Industry?

CV: I’ve been a makeup artist for eight years. I LOVE making women and men feel beautiful and confident. I also LOVE teaching. If I can combine both worlds I’m a happy camper.

HT: What woman inspires you and why?

CV: My mother inspires me everyday. It has been 10 years since she passed away. As a child I remember her working three jobs to support myself and my three siblings. She is the reason why I work hard and refuse to depend on anyone. I aim to be just as an amazing mom to my son.

HT: What has been your greatest moment of success?

CV: I would say my greatest moment of success is a combination of closing one chapter for now to be able to opening several novels for the future. I recently had to make the decision to close my first boutique in Soho. It was an overwhelming feeling of accomplishment with owning my first business but there were so many blessings and opportunities that came the same year. Sometimes I wish I was able to clone myself.

HT: What advice to you have specifically for female entrepreneurs?

CV: My advice to all my fellow female entrepreneurs that no one can promote you better than you can promote yourself. Constantly network, pitch your brand and collaborate with others who compliment you.

HT: How do you find strength when you are going through hardship?

CV: God gives me the strength I need, especially when I’m going through any hardships. I’ve learned to always leave situations in his hands ... good or bad. Besides prayer I meditate a lot to remove negative energy.

HT: What is something you can't live without?

CV: I can’t live without my family especially my son. He is my daily motivation!! My family also keeps me sane (laughs)
